Back to School

It's about as official as it can get. I'm an Aggie. I had such a range of emotions going into my first day of classes at USU; Excited, Nervous, Anxious, Grumpy, and Sleepy. Ok I realize I started listing dwarves there at the end but it's accurate. It didn't help that I'd been sleeping in WAY longer than I am proud of the week leading up to classes. My schedule isn't exactly what I was hoping for, transferring forced me to fill a few more generals than what I had already finished at The U. I also have a really long break on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I was super bugged about that until I realized that it gives me a window to come home and shower after my Dynamic Fitness class. All in all it's an adjustment switching schools, a bigger one than I anticipated in many ways. I've found pros and cons to the switch but the fact that I'm now married to my sweetie and living about 10 minutes from my family gives USU the win hands down.

The biggest downside to school starting is the time it takes away from spending with Waylon. On Tuesday and Thursday I have to leave before Waylon gets home from work. If I work either of those days I don't make it home until 9:00 and he has to be back at work by 9:30. So that part is a major bummer but we're toughing it out. We're really hopeful of him being able to move to a day shift soon but will survive if it takes a little longer.

I'm probably more thankful for Labor Day than I've ever been in my life for 3 reasons. 1) I need to catch up on some sleep big time this weekend and the extra day is majorly helpful. 2) I'm ashamed to say that my Dynamic Fitness, and Jogging classes have totally kicked my butt. Going from little/no exercise to a full out work out 5 days a week was one of the worst ideas I've ever had! I have been walking like a stomping toddler for the last 3 days. I'm happy to say my legs felt way better this morning. I've made it to the tolerable, even slightly enjoyable, dull post work-out ache. 3) Labor Day is the bomb! We spend our Labor Day in Wellsville at the Founders Day celebration. It's a whole couple of days filled with family, good food, and tons of laughs. The last few years my family has been helping to put on the traditional Dutch oven dinner as a fundraiser for the Mountain Crest Girls Softball team. It's a ton of work and my parents are my heroes for doing it but its also a lot of fun. We start tomorrow night by husking about 400 ears of corn at my grandma's house and it just builds from there.  So if you don't have plans for Monday come on out to Wellsville for the parade, sham-battle, dinner, carnival style booths and lots more.

Hope all you students had a good first week back!

Lots of love
Dan

Sounds like you are way busy. That's ok as long as you are happy too. I guess I'll just have to take it from the blog that you are. Providence must be too far away to visit any more(:
